Helping College Students Find their Paths

Volunteer for a College Alumni Mentoring Series (CAMS) panel or meal this fall.

Think back you your college days. Did you even know your current job existed, much less how to get there? Career choices can seem like a big, deep sea to undergraduates, and that’s where the College Alumni Mentoring Series (CAMS) comes in. In the 2022–23 school year, 33 College alums volunteered to travel back to Penn for CAMS panel discussions and dinners. They talked about their own career paths and how their liberal arts degree has helped them, and answered questions from the students.

Penn Arts & Sciences has four field-specific CAMS events coming up in the fall 2023 semester, along with the popular “You Majored in What?!?” panel during Family Weekend at the end of October. Please look at the schedule below, and if you can make it back to campus to take part in one, please fill out and submit this form today.

Sustainable Careers

Wednesday, Sept. 19, 6–7:30 p.m.

Alums making a difference for the environment working in both the private and government sectors, from green jobs to technology to public policy.

You’re Majoring in What?!?

Saturday, October 28 (Family Weekend)
Pre-Panel Lunch: 12–1:15 p.m.
Panel Discussion: 1:30–2:30 p.m.

Alums share their stories about how their education prepared them for varied and interesting career paths that didn’t necessarily correlate with their specific major, imparting ideas and advice and encouraging students to follow their passions.

Penn Arts & Sciences thanks the alums who stepped up to give College students insight into possible futures during the 2022–23 academic year:
