Cataloguing supernovae is no small feat for an undergraduate. With the help of her advisor, Masao Sako, associate professor of physics and astronomy, Velay Fellow Paulina Destarac, C'19, did just that, collecting data to facilitate research in the physics community on how the universe is expanding. She presented her "Dark Energy Survey: Astronomical Transient and Supernova Search" project in September at the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Open House and Research Expo.
